In water treatment plants, this system is used to remove the mud from the bottom of decantation rafts.
The clamshell bucket grab is a module that consists of two buckets that open and close simultaneously operated by a hydraulic cylinder. The buckets collect the mud, which is discharged into a container outside the raft.
The clamshell bucket grab is hanging from the hoist’s hook. The hoist trolley carries a roller drum with the feed hose so as to supply power to the system.
The whole set is assembled on a gantry, bridge crane or single girder rail in order to reach different points of the raft as well as the container for dumping the mud.
